The Everywhere Book Fest announces its first online children’s book festival scheduled for May 1 and May 2, 2020. The idea: in a time when we can’t go out to find the book, let’s bring the book to the reader. The Everywhere Book Fest is a virtual celebration of authors, books, and readers that brings the book festival experience to everyone! The virtual fest came together, over a 45-day period, in answer to the loss of festivals due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But yesterday, someone smart forwarded the information about it to me, and OH WOW! The impact has been felt on publishers, creators, educators, and readers. Starting on Friday, May 1 st at 9:45 a.m., the festival will kick off with a live introduction by organizers of the event and will then officially start with an opening keynote speech by Gene Luen Yang (American Born Chinese, Boxers & Saints).He will discuss his latest and highly anticipated graphic novel Dragon Hoops and jumpstart two days of amazing discussions.
